What is a Kite Buggy
A kite buggy is a single seat buggy with a fixed axle and two rear wheels, and a steerable front wheel. The kite buggy is powered by a power kite and accelerates and brakes with use of the buggy steering alongside the position and flight of the power kite. The front fork of the kite buggy has foot rests which allow the driver to steer the buggy as well as keep him pinned into the seat against the force of the power kite pulling the buggy.
A kite buggy has a bucket style seat fitted to give the kite buggy driver excellent support which is required when flying the power kite which pulls the buggy and driver along. Most kite buggies are made from a stainless steel tubes
Kite Buggies can reach amazing speeds with the right kite buggy, the right conditions and a skilled kite buggy driver. Kite Buggying has many similarities with land yachting which has been around for many years. Kite buggies can be driven on sand, grass and tarmac. They must however have adequate space to manoeuvre and enough room to change direction depending on the wind speed and direction.
